Meet Raven

I have been an artist as long as I could hold a pencil, but the journey here has had it’s twists and turns. Here’s a little bit about me:

• My art style is a mash up of illustrative, art nouveau, woodcut/linocut, anime, and various folk arts. I work in both digital and traditional mediums.

• Before taking the big leap into an art driven career, I earned a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice and almost joined the police academy! I couldn’t deny my creative calling and became a licensed tattoo artist shortly after.

• I’m bisexual. I never had an “official” coming out, it’s just always sort of been a part of me. I’m so very lucky to have a family and friends who have always supported my identity.

• I am far left on the sociopolitical spectrum. That means I believe in equal rights for the marginalized, that reproductive and gender affirming care are healthcare, that climate change is REAL and that Palestine should be free. If you have an issue with any of these stances, take it up with your momma.

• In that same vein, generative AI “art” as it is now is destructive and needs to be regulated before I’ll ever consider it a true art form. You can take that one up with your dad.

• I was raised with witchcraft and spirituality, considering myself an Appalachian witch. I got my first tarot deck when I was 6. I still have it. It has unicorns!

• I consider myself an Appalachian witch. I work with mostly the Celtic pantheon, with a little Buddhism, a little Shinto, and a dash of Christian mysticism thrown in there
